Ruby Campbell, age 85, of Forest City, passed away Sunday, October 29, 2017 at Brookdale.
Born July 1, 1932 in Rutherford County, she was a daughter to the late Robert F. Ayers, Sr. and Emma Lucille Gooden Ayers. She was a graduate of Harris High School, class of 1949. She worked for Mastercraft-Spindale Plant for thirty-five years before retirement and was a past member of Harris First Baptist Church. Ruby was known for her ability and passion in making ceramic dolls and ceramic Christmas trees. She also enjoyed cooking for others.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Henson, Ruth Tate, Lois Parton and one brother, DeWitt Ayers.
Those left to cherish her memory include three brothers, Robert F. Ayers, Jr. of Mooresboro, Bobby Ayers and wife, Hazel of Forest City and Ray Ayers and wife, Catherine of Rutherfordton; one sister Juanita Roper also of Rutherfordton. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews which includes Christopher Ayers and wife, Christy of Mooresboro.
A memorial service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 3, 2017 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend George Whitmire officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
