Ruby Faye Fortenberry Kidd, 86, went peacefully to her heavenly home on Friday, October 09, 2020 while surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Cleveland County to the late Clevie Emerson and Ruby Roberts Fortenberry. She is also predeceased by her spouse, Sam Kidd; son, Bryan; grandchild, Travis; siblings, Dorthey, Carolyn, Connie, Joe, Steve, Keith and Marvin.

Ruby leaves behind to cherish her memories her sons, Mark Kidd (Rhonda) and Ron Kidd (Cheryl); nine grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Judy Ross and Janette Costner.

She worked as a Spinner for most of her life at Lilly Mill. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and family. She will be in our hearts forever.

A Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, October 11, 2020 at Elliott Baptist Church, 3939 Stick Elliott Road, Lawndale, NC 28090.with Pastor Ron Kidd and Rev. Scott Holland officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service. Internment will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at the Veterans Cemetery,1100 Tunnel Road, Asheville, NC.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights, Shelby, NC 28150.
