Ruth Felmet Willis, 84, of Vale passed away on May 1, 2026 at Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory.

Ruth was born on October 26, 1941 in NC to the late Carl William Felmet and Bertha Beatrice Wright Felmet. She was retired from Ellis Hosiery Mill and was a member of Laurel Hill United Methodist Church.

Ruth was a loving mother and grandmother, who cared deeply for her family. She had a large extended family which included those she cared for over the years, as well as anyone who was in need.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Forrest Willis; son, Michael J. Willis; three brothers, W.C. Felmet, Dale Felmet and Jerry Felmet and three sisters, Margaret May, Sue Randall and Maggie Willis.

Ruth is survived by two daughters, Leslie Hambrick and husband, Jack of Vale and Karla Reynolds and husband, Chad of Lincolnton: daughter-in-law, Tina Willis of Connelly Springs and two grandchildren, Colt Willis and Cati Hambrick.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 from 2:00pm to 3:00pm at Laurel Hill United Methodist Church.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at 3:00pm at Laurel Hill United Methodist Church with Rev. Forrestene Sain officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
