Ryuki Deyton of Ellenboro has brought home another medal from the American Legion High School Oratorical Competition. In the Fifth Division Contest Saturday, February 14th, in Marion, Ryukiu finished third. He was the only eleventh grader participating there. All other contestants were high school seniors. Division Commander Harry Flynn and other officials encouraged Ryuki to compete in the event again next year. Ryuki, who attends Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy, previously won the competitions at American Legion Post 82 in Shelby, and the District contest in Kings Mountain.
