Sadie Francis Roberts Huntley

Mrs. Sadie Francis Roberts Huntley of 1033 Washburn Switch Road, Shelby was born in Cleveland County, North Carolina on December 7, 1932, the only daughter of the late Arthur and Sadie (Jeter) Roberts and departed this earthly life on Monday, March 25, 2013 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center at the age of 80.

A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and caregiver, she endeared her life at a very early age to Jesus Christ. She was lovingly known for her unselfish and giving spirit. A retired seamstress and homemaker, she answered and lived out her personal calling to the fullest as the consummate provider to any and everyone she came in contact with and as a effortless Volunteer and faithful Servant.

Like her mother and father before her, she joined Eskridge Grove Missionary Baptist Church many years ago, serving tirelessly and unconditionally as a Deaconess, member of the Mary Wilson Missionary Circle, the WMU and the Kitchen Committee.  She consistently placed God first and foremost in her life, living by His word, putting everyone’s needs before her own. She loved music, reading, gardening and most importantly, caring for others.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Will Frank Huntley, Sr. Also, two brothers, William Roberts and Roger Roberts.

She leaves to celebrate her well-lived life and fond memories, three sons. Warren Anthony Huntley and Marcus Dale Huntley and wife Jennifer both of Atlanta, Georgia and Frederic Gerard and wife Angela of Dubuque, Iowa; two step daughters, Velma Kay Strong and husband Rick of Phoenix, Arizona and Oveta Ann Moses and husband James of Shelby, North Carolina; two step sons, Eric Lynn Huntley and wife Kathy of Gastonia, North Carolina and Will Frank Huntley Jr. of Lone, California; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren as well as three sisters-in-law, Betty Roberts of Front Royal, Virginia, Madge Roberts of Shelby, North Carolina and Minnie Huntley of Charlotte, North Carolina along with a rich and supportive host of devoted friends and a very special church family.

A very deserving Angel has rightfully earned her wings and is now at peaceful rest.

Going Home Services will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Eskridge Grove Missionary Baptist Church with Rev.
