Samuel Ralph Brackett, 65, of Shelby, passed away on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at Gateway Rehabilitation and Healthcare, Lenior.
Born in Cleveland County, on September 4, 1956, he was a son of the late J.W. Brackett, Jr. and Mildred Miller Brackett. He was a salesperson for the Shelby Shopper and was a member of Kadesh United Methodist Church. He was a graduate of Appalachian State University.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Brackett.
Survived by a sister, Peggy McCombs and husband Elbert of Douglasville, GA, sister-in-law, Debby Brackett of Moyock, NC; nieces and nephews, Dustin Brackett and wife Anna, Jacob Brackett and wife Tammy, Michah Brackett and wife Kristie, Rebecca Thomas, Leah Byrd and husband Jeremai, Jeremiah Brackett and wife Sarah, Brian McCombs and wife Tannis and Kevan McCombs and wife Sonya Wheatley; and numerous loving great nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 11th at 2:00 pm at Kadesh United Methodist Church with the Rev. Brian Elwell officiating.
