Samuel "Sam" Haston Scott

Samuel "Sam" Haston Scott, 73, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on January 18, 2022 at Atrium Cleveland in Shelby, NC. He was born in Scotland County, NC, son of the late Haston and Janie Hamilton Scott and was preceded in death by his son, Samuel Jason Scott. Sam was also preceded in death by his sisters, Shirley Scott Simms, Betty Scott Burroughs, and Mary Scott. Sam served his country faithfully in the US Army and worked in maintenance for most of his life, finishing the last 18 years of his career with Lithium Corporation. He was a member of First Baptist Church for more than 20 years where he served with the Baptist Men disaster relief. Sam was an excellent handyman who loved working with his hands and could build or fix anything. In his spare time, Sam loved to spend time outdoors hunting and fishing. He loved to travel, visiting the coast many times where he enjoyed fishing. Sam was a wonderful husband and father who loved spending time with his family. His love, kindness, and guidance will be missed greatly by everyone who knew Sam.

Granddaughter: Lilith Dahlia Scott, Bessemer City

Brother: Benjamin "Nick" Scott, Rockingham, NC

FUNERAL SERVICE: Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church Kings Mountain with Reverend Dr. John Sloan officiating

VISITATION: Tuesday, January 25, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 1:50 PM prior to the service in the Stained Glass Room of First Baptist Church

INTERMENT: Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, NC

MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, donation may be made in Sam's memory to Mission Readiness, c/o First Baptist Church at PO Box 786, Kings Mountain, NC 28086
