It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Sandra Cozette Hoots Womack, affectionately known as Sandy. She departed this world peacefully at her home on April 30, 2026, after bravely enduring an extended illness. Born on August 4, 1952, in the charming town of Hendersonville, North Carolina, Sandy's life was a testament to love of family and friends.

Sandy was the beloved daughter of the late Tony and Ruby Hoots and was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert Hoots and Michael Tony Hoots, as well as her late husband, Mitch Collins.

A graduate of East Henderson High School in 1970, Sandy embarked on a career that saw her flourish in various roles. She was a dedicated employee at Ruth Originals and General Electric Lighting, and later found her passion as the manager of fine jewelry at Belk in Hendersonville. Her tenure at Belk showcased her impeccable taste and love for the finer things in life. In 1998, Sandy left Belk to care for Mitch, who was battling cancer, and cared for him until his passing in 1999

In 2006, Sandy found love once more and married John Womack. Together, they built a life filled with love in Forest City, sharing two decades of cherished memories. Johnny was Sandy's devoted caregiver until the very end, never leaving her side. Sandy is survived by her dedicated husband, John; her loving daughter, Linda Kaye Bledsoe, and son-in-law, Tim; her sister, Debbie Caudle, and brother-in-law, Gary; her brother, Terry Hoots, and sister-in-law, Debbie; and her stepchildren, John Womack Jr., Jonathon Womack, Corey Womack, and Angela Womack. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Chase and Hailey Lowman, and her great-grandchild, Raelynn Lowman.

Sandy had an eye for style and a heart full of affection. She was known for her love of shopping, particularly for designer bags and shoes, and she had an impressive collection of Betty Boop (her cartoon twin) memorabilia that reflected her vibrant spirit. Although her health declined in recent years, she found solace in reading and watching cooking shows.

A woman of the Christian faith, Sandy was known for her gentle kindness and enduring grace, qualities that endeared her to all who had the privilege to know her.

A celebration of Sandy's life will be held on June 5, 2026, at 3:30 PM at the Dana Park Community Building, located at 2879 Upward Rd, Flat Rock, North Carolina 28731. The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills for their exceptional care and compassion during Sandy's final days. Their support provided comfort and solace to Sandy and her family during a difficult time.
