Sandy Plains Baptist Church serves up some great barbecue

The Sandy Plains Annual Barbecue, located in the New House Community, is held every year the Saturday after Labor Day. They started serving this year at noon on Sept.12th. The event an "all you can eat" family affair. There was 225 pork shoulders and 515 barbecued chickens cooked, plus pounds and pounds of homemade coleslaw, endless hush puppies, gallons of pickles and tea, coffee, great cake, and an endless amount of french fries.
Monies raised helps with the church's big Christmas event, building handicap ramps for those in need, and for missions. Folks have been going for years from all over Cleveland and Rutherford Counties and other neighboring communities.
Sandy Plains Baptist Church has been serving the New House Community and spreading the good word since 1874. They have had 29 pastors and close to 100 deacons throughout their 150 year history. Congratulations for the great and dedicated work you do!
