Sarah Gail Canipe went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, August 4, 2026.
She was the best daughter, the best sister, the best wife, the best mother, the best grandmother, the best teacher, and the best friend anyone could ever have. She was kind, loving, and selfless and would do anything for anyone. She leaves this earth to begin her everlasting life in heaven alongside her husband, Lester and her parents, Paul and Ruth Crocker.

Gail was a devoted member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She faithfully taught Sunday School and Elementary School for many years. Alongside her beloved husband, Lester, a United States Air Force veteran, they travelled and lived abroad in England, France, and Germany.

She is survived by her sons, Douglas and Jeff Canipe; her brothers, Seburn and Dean Crocker; her sister, Lois Armstrong; her daughters-in-law, Carla and Kelly; the two loves of her life, her grandsons, Hunter and Nickolas; and a long and endless list of family and friends. Words cannot describe how much she meant to so many. She will be missed and eternally loved more than she could ever know.

We love you, Mama. Rest easy.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm Sunday, August 9, 2026, at St. John's Lutheran Church with Rev. G. Scott Homesley officiating. Burial will follow at City Memorial Cemetery. Her family will receive friends from 2:00 to 2:45pm prior to the service at the church.
