Sarah Marie Sisk Elam, age 81, passed away surrounded by family on Monday, January 31, 2022 at her home in Shelby, NC.

Born on April 15, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Willie and Maude Drewery Sisk. In addition to her parents Sarah is preceded in death by her brother, Ronald Sisk and sister Margie Lemons. Sarah will be remembered for having a love for animals, flowers, and gardening. Perhaps her greatest joy in life was cooking meals for her family and friends.

Sarah is survived by her husband of 62 years, George Benjamin Elam. In addition to her husband George, Sarah is survived by her two children, Sandra Fowler (Stephen) and Stephen Elam (Angela), a grandson Tyler, sisters, Vickie Morrison (Steve), Janet Clontz (Jerry), Carolyne Morrow (Archie) and brothers, Jimmy Sisk, Daniel Sisk (Sharon) and a sister-in-law, Janet Sisk. Also left to cherish her memory is her special canine companion Poncho.

A graveside service to honor her life will be held 3:00 pm Thursday February 3, 2022 at Cleveland Memorial Park with Dr. Tracy Jessup and Jerry Clontz officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm - 3:00pm at the cemetery prior to the service.
