SEEDS TO SILVERWARE IS SEPTEMBER 27, 2014
The Uptown Shelby Association is collaborating with local chefs, farmers and business owners to host a farm-to-table dinner on the square in Shelby’s Historic Uptown District. The dinner, called Seeds to Silverware, will be held on the evening of September 27th, 2014 with long beautiful tables stretching down the length of Washington Street between Warren and Marion.
The evening will begin with wine and NC craft beers, served alongside hors d’oeuvres made from ingredients collected from local farmers. After that, a four course dinner highlighting each of the chef’s skills and local ingredients will be served by volunteers.  Throughout the evening, the guests will be entertained by live musicians from Cleveland County. Proceeds from the dinner will benefit the Uptown Shelby Association and their effort to grow small businesses in the Historic District.
The menu for the evening highlights many of the wonderful ingredients that are currently at the peak of freshness in Western North Carolina. Tickets are currently on sale for $55. After Sept 1st, 2014 the ticket price will increase to $65.
For more information about the event visit  www.SeedsToSilverware.com or the Seeds to Silverware Facebook page.
The Uptown Shelby Association operates the Main Street program in Shelby, N.C. It was one of the first five Main Street Associations in North Carolina and part of the pilot program launched by the National Trust for Historic Preservation in 1980. The organization receives no state funding, so events like Seeds to Silverware help fund its important work.
