Sewell Murphy Greene, 83, of E. Stagecoach Trail, Fallston passed away on May 28, 2025 at Wendover Hospice House.

Born on July 26, 1941 in Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Sewell Jewel Greene and Mattie Mae Patterson Greene. Sewell was retired from the NC Department of Transportation and was a member of Plainsview Baptist Church. He was a former member of the Fallston Community Volunteer Fire Department.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mildred Self Greene and a sister, Libby Thrift.

Sewell is survived by his wife of 27 years, Helen Brittain Greene; three sons, Randy Greene and wife, Betty, Greg Brittain and wife, Nocona and Richard Brittain and wife, Sarah all of Fallston; a brother, Danny Greene of Shelby; two sisters, Candy Lovelace of Ellenboro and Patsy Hayes of Shelby; 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 31, 2025 from 2:00pm to 3:00pm at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wayne Key officiating.

Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park in Fallston.
