Sheila Kaye Baker McSwain, 67, passed away May 7th, 2023 at her home in Boiling Springs, North Carolina. Sheila was born in Radford, Virginia on May 4, 1956. She was the daughter of the late Robert Collie Baker, Sr. and Shirley Dawn Bedsaul Baker. In addition to her parents, Sheila is preceded in death by her grandparents, Mamie and Garnett Bedsaul. Sheila spent her adolescent years living with her family in Florida. Sheila loved the beach, the warm weather and taking her friends and coworkers to climb the Lighthouse of Ponce Inlet.

Sheila devoted her life to Christ at the age of 25. At the age of 30 God called Sheila into the ministry to seek and feed His sheep. She labored in the states of Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana.

After her ministry, Sheila met and married her husband Neal McSwain and lived with Neal in Boiling Springs North Carolina.

In addition to her husband Neal, Sheila is survived by her two brothers Robert Collie Baker Jr. (Drema) and Larry Ray Baker (Carol). Also left to cherish her memory are her nephew Robert Collie Baker, 111 and her niece. Elizabeth Dawn Baker Herndon, and her two stepsons Larry McSwain and Charles McSwain (Chelsea).

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 13, 2023 in the chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home with Mr. Jared Snyder and Mr. Greg Swenson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Cleveland Memorial Park.

Memorial donations may be made in her memory at an organization of the donor's choice.
