The Shelby City Park has now added lights at their Sports Complex, which allows them to have more games played at night. They had 12 teams playing on the three newly lighted fields last Tuesday evening. With the addition they have a total of seven fields, all located at the Park, allowing the Park to not have to use other facilities for hosting games. Girls softball has already begun and baseball kicks off on Monday, May 4th.
There's also a new concession stand and bathroom facility that will be ready by mid May if weather cooperates.
All the Park's staff, the players and parents are excited about the new facilities and they plan to draw even more out of town teams to our community for tournaments. Be sure to go by the Park and checkout the new additions.
Shelby City Park Office Hours are Monday-Friday 8:30am until 5:30pm (except holidays).
