Shelby Garden Club Doing Good Works

The Shelby Garden Club held a meeting on March 17th in the conference room at Cleveland County Memorial Library to explore the various books available on gardening. The Club was formed in 1953 and has continued their good work since its inception.
The club meets once a month, except for June, July and August which is planting time. That's when they get into the dirt. Their purpose is to educate and promote gardening in Shelby.
Their good works, aside from discussions and sharing, includes donating trees to the Shelby City Park, flower plantings at Cleveland Pines Nursing Home and other contributions over the years.
Currently, the club is seeking new members and guest speakers. If you are interested, contact them by email at ShelbyGardenClub@gmail.com.
Shelby Garden Club is a member of the Garden Club of North Carolina, Inc. If you love flowers and gardening, you'll love this club!

Shown at their recent meeting at the Cleveland County Memorial Library, are members of the Shelby Garden Club: (l to r) Ann McDaniel, Merridith Martin, Treasuer, Anita Gray, Vice President, (seated) Helen Gilliatt, President, Ginny Hughes, Corresponding Secretary, and Stella Cerjan, Recording Secretary.
