Shelby Jean Smith

Shelby Jean Smith, 85, of Blacksburg, SC, went to be with the Lord on August 23, 2022 at her home.

She was born in Cleveland County, NC, daughter of the late Gus Hartsoe and Cora Gladden and was preceded in death by her husband of more than 40 years, Junior Hartsoe and her son, Michael Hartsoe. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Gus Hartsoe Jr., 4 sisters, Martha Dobbins, Betty Sessoms, Sue Phillips, and Linda Beaver a beloved niece, Bennie Sue Beam, a beloved granddaughter, Kisha Watts, and a great granddaughter, Alexis. Jean was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church in Blacksburg, SC. She enjoyed working puzzle books and was an avid Gunsmoke and Cheyenne television show fan. She was a wonderful matriarch and dearly loved her many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Her guidance, strengths, wisdom and love was cherished by everyone who knew Jean and will be missed dearly by all who loved her.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Friday August 26, 2022 at 11:00 AM in the Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel with Bishop Brady Jackson officiating

VISITATION: Friday, August 26, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 10:50 AM prior to the service at Harris Funeral Home

INTERMENT: Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, NC
