Shelby Jean Wilson

Shelby Jean Wilson, age 82, of Forest City, passed away, Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.

Shelby was born August 17, 1937 in Rutherford County to the late James David Horton and Stella Mae Bowens Horton. She was a faithful member of Spindale Fellowship Holiness. Shelby was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, craftwork and shopping. She worked as a waitress for several local restaurants and cafes. Shelby loved her family dearly and will be missed greatly by her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-four years, John "Frank" Wilson; son-in-law, David Burgess; brothers, D.G. and Cecil Horton and sisters, Annie Frady and Doris Wilson.

Those left to cherish her memory includes two daughters, Barbara Burgess of Dobbinsville and Norma Reedy (Rodney) of Ellenboro; three grandchildren, Nicole Klepper of Inman, SC, Pamela Phillips (Gary) and Beth Conner of Ellenboro. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren, Harley Burgess (Brad Pye), Luke Campbell, Jaydha Campbell, Layla Campbell, Camren Klepper and Trenton Klepper; special niece, Charlotte Jowers (Joe); special friends, Joyce and Ken Davis and extended grandchildren, Bryan Hauss (Shannon), Makalyn, Azlyn, Devin, and Jaiden Silvers.

The funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 10, 2020 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Chad Sisk and Reverend Buddy Campbell officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
