Shelton Jermaine Davis

Shelton Jermaine Davis, 48, of 6103 Len Drive Shelby, NC passed away on Monday, June 7, 2021 at his residence. He was born on February 8, 1973 in Gaffney, SC to Napoleon Thompson, Jr. and the late Donna Davis-Valentine.

Shelton was a 1992 graduate of Blacksburg High School where he was an enthusiastic football player. His passion for football continued with coaching Little League Football at Number 3 Elementary School in NC as well as while living in GA and AL. As an avid sports fan, he also tried his hand at coaching his daughter's basketball team as well. Shelton was a father figure to many as a coach. He was able to take the most unlikely child and see his value so that he could become a better player.

Always a hard working person who provided for his family, Shelton was employed over the years with Nestle, Hormel and Hyundai in AL, a position in which he thoroughly enjoyed.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife of 27 years, Susanne Davis of the home, 4 Daughters: Jarvonda Davis of Prattville, AL; Amber Woodard (Greg) of Prattville, AL; Zaniah Cherry and Z'Moria Cherry of the home. 5 Brothers: John Huskey of Greensboro, NC; Napoleon Thompson III(Mindy) of Blacksburg, SC; Faris Degree of Gaffney, SC; Pastor Leslie Davis(Andrea) of Lake Wylie, SC. 5 Sisters: Nicole Oxendine(William) of Boiling Springs, SC; Natasha Hemphill of Greer, SC; Patrilya Gaddy(Benny); Amber and Cortney Degree of Gaffney, SC; 1 Grandson: Amarie White; 2 God-Sons: Malik and Lawrence Hopper; Auntees: Debbie Martinez(Carlos), Linda Young, Shannon Butler(Divine), Carol Thompson, Judy Thompson, Barbara Cuff. Uncles: Rev. Ricky Davis (Patricia), Michael Cuff. And a Host of Cousins, Nieces, Nephews, Friends and loved ones.

The funeral service for Mr. Davis will be held on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at 3:00 PM at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He can be viewed from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at S.T. Enloe Memorial Chapel. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 12, 2021 from 2:30 PM until 3:00 PM at the church. Condolences can be expressed online at www.enloemortuary.com.
