SHELBY: Shirley Edmondson Emery, 74, died Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017, at Carolinas Healthcare System-Cleveland. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Isaac and Viela Wilson Edmondson. She was a member of New Bethel Church of Shelby, worked many years in nursing, later retiring from being a daycare teacher.

PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bill Edmondson.

SURVIVED: She is survived by her sons, Chris Emery and wife Elizabeth, Travis Emery, and Andrew Emery and wife Kristie, all of Shelby; brother, James Edmondson of Shelby; grandchildren, Isaac, Ryan, Allyson, Bailee, Madison, Riley, and Kasen Emery; and dear friend and sister in life, Shirley Sailors of Gastonia

VISITATION: The family will receive friends 6:30pm-8pm, Monday, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home, and other times at the home of her son, Chris Emery, 803 Phillips St., Shelby.

FUNERAL SERVICES: Funeral services will be held 2pm, Tuesday, at New Bethel Church of Shelby

OFFICIATING: Rev. Mark Patchett will officiate

BURIAL: Will follow in Lattimore Baptist Church Cemetery
