Shirley Kelly Anthony, 88, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, January 02, 2026 while at Saluda Nursing Center, Saluda, SC. She was born in Rutherford County to the late Clifford Kelly and Nicie Hawkins Kelly. She is also predeceased by her spouses, Bill Anthony, Jose Rodrigurez and Ben Eugene Sentell; son, Clifford "Pete" Arnold Sentell; brother, J. Hugh Kelly; sister, Charlene Hughey.

Shirley leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter, Benita Sentell Duffie (Chuck); grandson, Ben Edwin Duffie (Mackinze); niece, Tonya Hughey McCullough and Renita Gray; nephews, Robert Hughey, James Hughey and Hugh Kelly; special mention to Saluda Nursing Home, special friends, Marla Edgerly and Cindy Padgett for all the love, care and errands, and to Dr. Bill Sawyer and Dr. Julianna Atkins for all their care for our mother and friend.

She graduated from Boiling Springs High School in 1955 and was a member of the National Beta Club. She also graduated cum laude from Limestone College in 1984 with a Business Administration Management Degree. She worked at Eckerds Snack Shop and she retired from Cleveland Community College where she worked as a Secretary, in the Book Store, the Library and as an Instructor.

Throughout her life she enjoyed hobbies of traveling, painting, sewing, hiking, and drawing. She loved going to the mountains and the beach. She was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She will remain in our hearts forever.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, January 07, 2026 at Crestview Baptist Church, 1090 Old Boiling Springs Rd, Shelby, NC 28152. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial immediately following at Cleveland Memorial Park, 1225 College Ave, Shelby, NC 28152.
