Shirley Owens Wood, age 59, of Ellenboro, NC, entered into the presence of her Savior on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at her daughter's residence.
Born June 5, 1957 in Rutherford County, she was a daughter to the Hattie Gettys Terry and the late David Allen Terry.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, Junior Terry.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by five children, Candy Buff and husband Mark, Samuel Owens and wife Danielle, Rebecca Owens, Timothy Owens, Samantha Logan and husband Abrion; sisters, Carolyn McDaniel and husband Gordon, Mary Callahan, Liz Terry; and brother, Eugene Terry. She is also survived by nineteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 31, 2017 at the Piney Mountain Baptist Church with Reverend Bobby Brown and Brian Nelon officiating. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church and at other times at the home of her mother, Hattie Terry.
