Shirley Sisk Stinchcomb

SHELBY- Shirley Sisk Stinchcomb, 83, died Mon., Monday, Mar. 13, 2017, at CaroMont Health in Gastonia. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late E.E. and Nettie Anne Sisk. Shirley was a lifetime member of New Bethel Church of Shelby, where she was active in the Red Hat Society and Jolly Elders. She loved her church and church family. Shirley owned and operated Shirley's Restaurant for 10 years, and also worked as a teacher's assistant. She enjoyed her work with children, and was a certified EMT for more than 50 years. Shirley would often be seen on the front row of the Don Gibson Theater for all events.

PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Odies "Clarence" Stinchcomb; brothers, Guynell, Austell, Curly Howard, Lee, Paul, Earl, and Ireland Sisk; and sister, Syble Patterson.

SURVIVED: She is survived by her sons, Kim Stinchcomb and wife Sara Wright Stinchcomb, Dan Stinchcomb and Scott Stinchcomb, all of Shelby; four grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; nieces, Tammi Dodson and husband Lynn of Wilmington, and Bobbi Gibson, who the family thanks for all her love and care she extended over the years; and her adopted family, Linda Price, Pat Patchett, Grace Scruggs Constant, and Sandra Morrison, who showed their love and attention.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends Friday, 6-7:30pm, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home, and other times at her home, and 138 Columns Circle, Shelby

FUNERAL SERVICES: Funeral services will be held 11am, Saturday, at New Bethel Church of Shelby

OFFICIATING: Rev. Mark Patchett will officiate

BURIAL: Will follow in Sunset Cemetery
