Sonja Jean McCartney Ankrum, 87, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones. She was born in Columbiana County, Ohio to the late Howard Edwin McCartney and Anne Jean Davis.

Left to cherish her memory are her spouse, Alvin Darrell Ankrum; children, Deloris (Tom) Mazzetta, William (Magaret) Ankrum, and Anne (Michael) Calhoun; grandchildren, Jonathan Mazzetta, Alicia Mazzetta, Rachel (Chris) Ryan, Christie (Richard) Couch, Timothy Ankrum, Daniel Krol, and Kristen (Matt) Yarbro; great-grandchildren, Sophia Mazzetta, Isla Mazzetta, Caylie Csar, Sebastian Csar, Joshua Ryan, Katherine Ryan, Emma Ryan, Raiden Krol, Orion Krol, Rhyah Fornecker, and Colton Yarbro; special life long friend, Don Jones

She was an Honorary life member of the Scottish American Military Society and a researcher and author of family history. Throughout her life she enjoyed hobbies of traveling, embordering, coloring and caring deeply for her family. She loved watching football, her favorite team being Baltimore Ravens. Her spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. May her memory be a blessing, and may we carry forth her legacy of love and compassion in all that we do.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a Hospice Organization of choice.
