Sophia Ivey, 73, resident of Gastonia, died April 5, 2017 at CaroMont Health. Born in Mitropolis, Crete, Greece, she was the daughter of the late Melambianakis. She was also preceded in death by husband Thomas Alton Ivey, daughter Sarah Ann Ivey, and sister Lia Mattice. Sophia was a very loving and caring mother, sister and friend.

SURVIVORS: 3 Daughters: Lea McGraw and husband Robert;

Caroline Lopez and husband Pedro; Tami Jones.

Five grandchildren and eight nieces and nephews

2 Brothers: Miros Melambianakis, Crete, Greece and Nikos Melambianakis, Anchorage , Alaska.

1 sister: Betty Wainscott, Las Vegas, NV

GRAVESIDE SERVICE: Tuesday, April 11, 2017, 12:30 PM, Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, NC with Father Vasilis Tsourlis, officiating.

VISITATION: 11:00 AM - 12:00PM, prior to the service at Harris Funeral Home
