Steve Davis, 66, of Lawndale, passed away Saturday, February 21st, after a short illness at Wendover Hospice House in Shelby, NC.

Born in1959 at Lackland Air Force Base, he was raised in the Green Creek community of Polk County and was a 1978 graduate of Polk Central High School, where he played multiple sports and was a member of the Future Farmers of America. He was a loyal fan of the Dallas Cowboys, N.C. State athletics, and Gonzaga University basketball. Until health challenges overtook him, he was an enthusiastic golfer. He regularly attended New Bethel Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Truman A. and Doris S. Davis, as well as his two beloved dogs, Bacon and Dixie. He is survived by his brother Brian (Lori) of White House, Tn; brother Jon (Cindy) of Yadkinville, NC; Thad (Carol) of Logan, Ohio; nine nieces and nephews and eight great-nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held March 14th, 2026 at 1:00 PM at New Bethel Baptist Church in Lawndale with the Reverend Carson Putnam officiating. His ashes will be interred with his parents at Patterson Springs Baptist Church in Patterson Springs, NC.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to New Bethel Baptist Church or Wendover Hospice House, 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby, NC, 28150.
