Steve Dudley Martin

Blacksburg -- Steve Dudley Martin, 67, of 157 McKee Drive, passed away on Saturday, January 2nd, 2021, at Cherokee Medical Center.

Born in Cherokee County, he was the widower of Brenda Huskey Martin and the son of the late Mildred Peterson Martin. Mr. Martin worked as a mechanic and retired from Overnight Transportation and was a deacon at Lighthouse Baptist Church. He loved his family, the Lord, the outdoors, landscaping, people, and President Trump. He also served with the Blacksburg Police Department as a young man.

Mr. Martin is survived by four sons, Michael Martin (Jalene), Bobby Martin, Jeremy Martin (Lolly), and Jeff Martin (Beth); two brothers, David Martin and Charles M. Martin; one sister, Linda Childers; 12 grandchildren, Michael Martin Jr., Makayla Martin, RiLee Martin, Talon Martin, Malachi Martin, JJ Martin, Skyla Martin, Josiah Martin, Jeff Martin Jr., Andrew Martin, Caleb Martin, Landon Robbs, and one great-granddaughter, Adelyn Martin.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 5th, 2021, from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm at Gordon Mortuary, 400 West Cherokee Street, Blacksburg, South Carolina 29702. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 6th, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Lighthouse Baptist Church, 241 Oak Grove Road, Blacksburg, South Carolina 29702 with Rev. Eddie Hardin officiating. Interment will follow at Lighthouse Baptist Church Cemetery. chris Shasteen, Kevin Martin, Shane Childers, Chris Robbins, Scott McCain, Dennis Scoggins, Nathan Patterson, and Terry Huffman will serve as pallbeares.

The family will be at the residence.
