Steve G " Hawk" Hawkins , age 61 died on Friday March 18, 2016 at Carolina Medical Center in Charlotte . Born in Cleveland County on August 20, 1954 he was the son of Lona Mae Harris Hawkins and the late Arland Hawkins. He retired from Cleveland County Landfill and was a member of Boiling Springs Fire & Rescue For 30 years. He is preceded in death by his brother Larry Hawkins.

In addition to his mother, Steve is survived by his wife Shelain Hawkins and his son Wesley Hawkins and his daughter Lesley and husband Clay Bradley an two step children Matthew and his wife Heather and Kellie Hawkins and a niece Michelle Flowers and two grandsons Steve and Michael Bradley .

A funeral is scheduled for 2:00pm on Tuesday March 22, 2016 at East Shelby Church of God with Pastor Kelly Dodson officiating. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Steve's life. Flowers and donations can be sent to Cecil Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, 106 Cherryville Road, Shelby NC 28150.
