Sue Bridges Floyd

SHELBY: Sue Bridges Floyd, 67, died Sunday, January 6, 2019, at her home. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late William Howard and Betty McDaniel Bridges. Sue was a member of Northside Baptist Church, the Red Hat Society, Woodman of the World, and active in Communities in Schools of Cleveland County. She first started working as a beautician, later working as an EC teacher, and substitute teacher. She was a loving, caring and generous lady, who loved caring for others. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Billy Bridges; and grandson, Elijah Floyd. She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Gary Floyd, of the home; son, Jason Floyd and wife Lynn; daughter, Julie Crotts and husband Scott, all of Shelby; grandchildren, Allen Crotts and fiancée, Melissa Parker, Jada Hayes and boyfriend, TJ Morrison, Mason Crotts, Ethan Floyd, and Eva Floyd; and great-grandson, Jaxon Crotts. Funeral services will be held 2pm, Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Neal Efird officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service, at the funeral home, and other times at her home. Burial will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park.
