SunTrust of Kings Mountain hand-delivers scholarships

SunTrust Bank awarded $3,000 to qualifying seniors and presented them at the 13th Annual Senior Scholars Banquet at The LeGrand Center among some 925 in attendance.
"This is the third year SunTrust Bank has assisted The Foundation," said Jay Rhodes, a member of the CCS Educational Foundation board of directors and scholarship committee. "We are extremely appreciative of their financial support for our students as they continue their educational pursuits."
Ed Blackburn, assistant vice president of SunTrust of Kings Mountain, secured the funds through the SunTrust Bank Foundation to provide scholarship support for recent graduates.
"At SunTrust Bank, we look for ways to be part of the community and being part of the community means giving back and investing in our community, said Blackburn. "One way SunTrust does that is by investing in our best and brightest students in hopes that they will come back to their hometown and invest their newly acquired knowledge in making their home a better community for all."
Backburn presented six scholarships in person at the banquet to Jada Donaldson, Breahna Keys, Austin McKee, Cassidy Rudnick, Autumn Sheridan, Jazmyn Vickers, and Ricky Zheng of Kings Mountain High.
"We are proud of our local graduates and know they'll be successful as they embark on a new chapter in their lives, prepared what the future holds," added Blackburn.
