FOREST CITY- Susan Annette Powell Byers, 53, passed away unexpectedly in Morganton, Saturday September 23, 2017. She was born in Rutherford County on December 20, 1963, daughter of Rebecca Cantrell Elliott and the late Gordon Julius Powell.

PRECEDED: In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by a niece, Angela Huntley.

SURVIVORS: She is survived by one daughter, Carmen Deanna Liggins and husband Doyle Brown of Spindale; one brother, Billy Huntley and wife Judy of Hickory; three grandchildren, Blake, Mary, and Ariel Brown.
