Susan Hayes Washburn, Shelby, age 69, passed away at Atrium Healthcare Center on March 25, 2021.

Susie was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Eugene Hayes and Mary Pyron Hayes.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 50 years, Dietz Beaman Washburn Jr; two daughters: Heather Washburn Eaker and spouse Steve and Aleta Washburn, four grandchildren: Andy Eaker, Lauren Eaker, Victoria Young, Michael Young and one great- grandchild. Kamden Cooper. She is also survived by one sister, Gayle Mode and husband Tommy of Shelby, NC.

Susie was born January 4, 1952 in Shelby, NC. She was a devoted wife and mother. She was an active member of Double Springs Baptist Church where she served on the flower, food, and Samaritan Purse Christmas Box committees. She enjoyed painting ceramics, making pottery, working puzzles, spending time in her flower garden, baking cakes, and "Good Will Hunting with the girls."

Funeral Services will be held, Saturday, March 27, 2021 at 2:00 at Double Springs Baptist Church with Reverends Bill Fryar and Mike Frazier officiating. The family will be at 1012 Alpha Drive. In lieu of flowers the family would like for you to make a donation to the Double Springs Church Samaritan Purse project, or to Hospice of Cleveland County.
