Susie Elizabeth McElhannon Piercy, age 85, died Friday, December 29, 2017 at Carolina Healthcare Cleveland. Born on August 22, 1932 in Walterboro, SC Susie was the daughter of the late Claude Marion McElhannon and Nina Johnson McElhannon. Susie was a member of Cherryville First Baptist Church. She was a lab technician for Doran Mills for many years. Susie loved nature and enjoyed bird watching. In addition to her parents; Susie is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Piercy, Sr., her son Kenneth Piercy, Jr., a son-in-law, Randy Austin and several siblings.

Susie is survived by, a son, Pink Piercy and his wife Misty of Cherryville, a daughter, Nina Austin of Cherryville, a daughter-in-law, Sandra Piercy of Belmont; four grandchildren, Trent Austin and his wife Mary, Amy Austin Black and her husband Dillon, Edward Piercy and his wife Michelle, Kenneth Piercy, III and his wife Samantha, and one great grandchild, Rhebalee Piercy.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Cherryville First Baptist Church with Dr. Vince Heffner officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery. The family will receive friends an hour before the service, from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the charity of one's choice.
