Founding Executive Director of Life Enrichment Center, Suzi Kennedy RN BS, received the Zenith Award at Cleveland County Chamber's Annual Banquet. The Zenith Award recognized Suzi for her outstanding contributions that exhibited a high standard of extraordinary service and community involvement, which have positively impacted the quality of life for citizens in Cleveland County.
While working as a nursing instructor in the late 1970s, Suzi recognized a need for adults who required health care and supervision, but didn't require a nursing home level of care. Suzi's vision would give families the option of keeping their loved ones at home and in the community. In 1980, Suzi's dream became a reality, resulting in the inception of Life Enrichment Adult Day Health Center.
Life Enrichment Center began by serving two adults, in a small room in the basement of a church. Thirty-six (36) years later, Life Enrichment Center has been deemed a national model for adult day health centers. With two (2) state of the art facilities in Cleveland County, Life Enrichment Center currently serves 234 participants. Through the years, Life Enrichment has touched thousands of lives in Cleveland county, most notably caregivers and their loved one(s).
Suzi's vision, leadership, and common sense approach of doing "Whatever it Takes" will leave a lasting impact on our community. Her legacy will forever remain in Cleveland County through the Life Enrichment Center Adult Day Health Service... Doing whatever it takes to help families keep adult loved ones at home and in the community!
