Sybil McSwain Simpson, 72, of Shelby, passed away on Friday, March 25, 2022 at Atrium Health - Cleveland, Shelby.

Born in Cleveland County, on August 21, 1949, she was a daughter of the late James Miller McSwain and Velma Wright McSwain. She was retired from textiles.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Jack Stanley Simpson; a son, Jack S. Simpson, Jr.; a daughter, Debra Denice Simpson; two great grandchildren, Rebecca Hamrick and Baby Aderholdt and a sister Mildred Wray.

Survivors include her daughter, Sherry Lee and husband Timmy of Shelby; four grandchildren, Marie Lee, Joe Lee, April Cloninger and Ashley Wilson and six great grandchildren, Noah Hollingsworth, Austin Simpson, Jackson Lee, James Lee, Dalton Cloninger and J.D. Hamrick.

The family will receive friends on Monday, March 28, 2022, at 1:00 PM to 2:00 pm, at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.

A private entombment will follow the visitation in the Rose Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum.
