Sylvia Maxine Jordan Ross was born March 12, 1946, to the late Mack and Mary Jordan of Kings Mountain, NC. She peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at Pineville Atrium Hospital in Charlotte, NC, surrounded by her loving family.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph Ross; one son, Alphonso Miller; five Sisters, Mrs. Jessie Mae Gill, Mrs. Nancy Foster, Mrs. Mary Lee Washington, Mrs. Shirley A. McCluney, Flonnie Jordan; two brothers, Mr. John Paul Jordan and Mr. Samuel W. Jordan; four sisters-in-laws, Sally Ann McClain of Kings Mountain, NC, Doris McClain, Annie Mae Roach of Kingstown, NC, Margaret Starnes of Shelby, NC; five brothers-in-law, Frankie D. McCluney of Baltimore, MD., Robert Lee Ross of Spartanburg, SC, Bill Ross, Woodrow Ross, and Bobby Ross, all of Shelby, NC.

She leaves to cherish fond memories with two sons, Jerry Jordan (Dana) of Charlotte, NC, and Rodney Jordan of Kings Mountain, NC; two daughters Sherry Jordan-Parker (AndreParker- Deceased) of Mount Holly, NC, Latoya Cole (Steven) of Charlotte, NC; two stepdaughters, Rona Ross of Charlotte, NC, and Sheila Ross of Gastonia, NC; two sisters, Ms. Jean Bell, and Ms. Norma Black both of Kings Mountain, NC; four brothers, Mr. James E. Jordan of Charlotte, NC, Mr. Thurman Jordan, Mr. Walter C. Jordan, and Mr. Keith A. Jordan (Fae Jordan) of Kings Mountain, NC; sister-in-law, Mrs. Betty H. Jordan of Kings Mountain, NC; two aunts, Mary H. Brown, and Marie Brown; special friends, Mary Spencer & Bertha Bell and eleven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services were held on Monday, July 21, 2025 at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Kings Mountain, NC. Enloe Mortuary was in charge of the services.
