Sylvia "Sam" Ledford Bostic of Polkville, passed away on Thursday, November 22, 2018. Born in Shelby, North Carolina on July 4, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Peggy Short and Olen Ledford. In addition to her parents, Sylvia is preceded in death by her grandmother, Lena James. She was a 1963 graduate of Shelby High School. She retired from PPG Industries after 35 years of dedicated service. Her hobbies included tending her flowers and crocheting. She loved the beach and collecting shells along with shark's teeth. Sylvia especially enjoyed spending time with her dogs Misty, Oliver, and her grand dog Jasper.

Sylvia was a loving mother, grandmother, and caring, faithful wife. She is survived by her husband of fifty-one years, Johnnie Bostic, son Johnnie Bostic Jr., daughter Heather Bostic Dickson and husband Robert, daughter Shelley Bostic, sister Shelia Jolley, five beautiful grandchildren Johnathan "Chance" Dickson, Teaghan Dickson, Madeline Brady, Logan Brady, and Lucas Brady.

Funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 2nd at 3:00 P.M. at the Chapel at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home & Crematory. The family will receive friends prior to the service at 2:00 P.M at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home & Crematory.
