Talmadge Cleatus Crotts, 81, died Tuesday March 5, 2013 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.  Born in York, SC, he was the son of the late Ellis Dennis and Alice Verblee Mauney Crotts.  He was also preceded in death by five sisters, Vernie Crotts, Maggie Martin, Mozell Hill, Annie Maud Austin, and Macie Parris.  Bud was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend to many and a generous man who was always willing to help in any way he could.  He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.

Bud is survived by his wife of 59 years Mary Ila Hill Crotts of the home; two sons, Horace Lee Crotts and wife Chiquita of Mooresville, NC and Gary Cleatus Crotts and wife June and their daughter Annette Crotts Hoyle and husband Dean Hoyle, all of Shelby; six grandchildren, Melissa, Katie and Mary Beth Crotts of Shelby, NC, Sarah Crotts of Mooresville, NC, Allison and Allan Hoyle of Shelby, NC; a sister, Helen Davis Of Myrtle Beach, SC.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, March 8, 2013 at Flint Hill Baptist Church.  The Rev. Shane Kirby, Rev. Stan Webb and Rev. Craig Seaford will be officiating.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:30pm on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory.  At other times the family will be at the home.
