Ted Alexander Makes Book Presentation To Cleveland County Memorial Library
Ted Alexander, Western Regional Director for Preservation North Carolina presents a copy of “A Lasting Gift Of Heritage” to Carol Wilson, Director of the Cleveland County Memorial Library.
  Ted Alexander, Western Regional Director for Preservation North Carolina with an an office in Shelby, recently presented a book to Carol Wilson, Director of the Cleveland County Memorial Library. The book is entitled “A Lasting Gift of Heritage: A History of the North Carolina Society for the Preservation of Antiquities, 1939-1974” by David Louis Serrett Brook. The book is a history of the organizational forerunner of Preservation North Carolina (PNC) which will be celebrating its 75th anniversary in 2014. It references some individuals and properties from the Cleveland County area which played a  role in the early days of PNC. The book was donated for use in the local history and genealogy room of the library.  Preservation North Carolina is the only state-wide non profit organization whose mission is to protect and promote buildings, sites and landscapes important to the diverse heritage of North Carolina.
