Terrell Archer Strickland, 79, passed away December 12, 2016, at his home
after a long illness. He was born in Hall County, Georgia on August 20,
1937. A member of Norman's Grove Baptist Church, he retired from the North
Carolina State Highway Department. He also served in the US Army.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Brackett Strickland of
Belwood, his parents T.C. and Jurell Strickland of Fallston; his brother
John Allen Strickland of Fallston; his sister Louise Strickland Harrelson of
Fallston; his brother T.C. Strickland Jr. of Shelby; and his sister Ann
Strickland Keller of Garner.

He is survived by several nieces and nephews, including Jo Harrelson Piercy
of Fallston, Patty Keller of Garner, and Donna Carpenter of Belwood;
sister-in-law Margaret Morrison and husband Donald of Belwood; sister-in-law
Jo Anne Owns and husband C.P. of Belwood and his beloved dog Ginny.

The family would like to thank his caregivers Laura Baxley, Frances Collins,
Kathleen Crane and Mary Hull for taking such good care of him during his
illness. The family would like to thank his hospice nurses Karen Brady and
Delynn Fitch as well as other caregivers from Hospice who worked to make him
comfortable during his illness.

Visitation will be 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM Wednesday at Stamey-Tysinger
Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be 3:00 PM Wednesday at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home
Chapel with Rev. Keith Huss officiating.

Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Fallston
