Terry Dean Russell

Mr. Terry Dean Russell, 56, entered eternal rest on Monday, May 19, 2025, at his residence in Shelby, NC. A native of Shelby, NC, he was born on October 24, 1968, to Evelyn Russell and the late Gary Dean Russell.

He was a 1987 graduate of Shelby High School and spent over 30 years working at various jobs including Overnite Transportation, PPG Industries Inc., Eaton, Freightliner Trucks, and Timken. He was very hardworking, committed, and dependable.

He was a member of First Baptist Lawndale in Lawndale, NC and was also baptized there.

Terry always looked polished and together and in his younger days he enjoyed roller skating and riding his motorcycle. He valued family time, and nothing made him happier than being surrounded by family and friends. He enjoyed attending live sporting events and watching sports and was known for his "trash talking." His presence was a constant comfort, his laugher a familiar joy, and his stories a treasured part of family life. He brought so much joy to the holidays; things will feel different without that. He had a heart of gold and was known to put others needs before his own. He enjoyed making others laugh and lived his life to the fullest.

Terry leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Evelyn Russell of Shelby; siblings, Marsette Bridges (Terry Bridges), and Sonya Evette Russell, both of Shelby; Derrell Russell of Florida; nieces and nephews, Keiara Russell (Chantel Harris-Russell) of Shelby, Porsha Russell, Derrell Russell Jr., Nadia Bridges, and Ikeem Murray all of Charlotte, NC; and Zaria Murray of Greensboro, NC; great aunt, Mabel Lawson Moore; aunt, Eleanor Leak and Hiwanda Scott; uncle, Gregory Dale Leak; special friends, Mike Phillips of Gaffney, SC, Barron Jones and Walter Lee, both of Shelby, and a host of cousins and friends.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at 2:30 PM at Changers Church in Shelby, NC.
