Theresa Lynn Lackey of Shelby peacefully passed on Wednesday, February 26th 2025 at Atrium Health Center in Shelby.

She was kind, patient, loving and fun. Beautiful inside and out and was deeply cherished by all who knew her.

Born in Rutherford County, Lynn later moved with her parents and two sisters to Boiling Springs, NC where she grew up. She attended Boiling Springs High School and graduated in 1961 from the newly formed Crest High School. She attended Gardner Webb College and she later built a successful career in banking serving as a Loan Officer for several local banks in Kings Mountain and Shelby. She and Don are devoted members of Big Springs Baptist Church in Ellenboro, NC.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Avery Mac and Evelyn Kirby Greene, sister Diane Harris, her son, David Wilson and nephews Stephen Willams and Joe Harris.

She is survived by her loving husband, Don Lackey of Shelby; Son Jimmy Wilson and wife Melissa of Shelby; Daughter-in-law Sharon Wilson of Shelby; Stepson Chuck Lackey and wife Pam of Maiden, NC; Sister Gale Jackson of Waynesboro, TN.

Lynn was a proud grandmother to Alex, Lee and Jenna Wilson; Gracie Sheffield (Wesley); Katie Wilson, Luke Lackey (Hunter), Jordan Lackey; Justin Enloe (Lauren) Kristen Gallucci (Mario) She was also a loving Great Grandmother to Grayson and Catherine; Milo and Luca; and beloved aunt to Audra Oliver(Joel), Deirdre Blair, Ruth Ann Harris and Andy Harris.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM Monday, March 3, 2025 at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home.

A funeral service to celebrate Theresa's life will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at Big Springs Baptist Church; 534 Big Springs Church Rd, Ellenboro, NC 28040. Burial will immediately follow the service in the church cemetery. http://www.bigspringsbaptist.org/
