Thinking Thursdays?... Think Uptown Blues Night at Alive After Five on July 15th
Meredith Laney of Amissville

Thursday, July 15th is Blues Night in Uptown Shelby at Alive After Five.

It will be a night filled with music, so we are starting early and finishing late 5:00 – 9:00.

Amissville and the Contagious Blues will bring us a night of good music and good times.

Amissville will be taking the stage at 5:00, they are a performing singer-songwriter duo out of Charlotte. Their first CD, Out of Town, is due out this spring! They are also the proud recipients of a Regional Artist Project Grant from the Arts & Science Council (ASC), which will help fund their second CD. Meredith Laney is the sass and vocals and her partner David Holtzclaw is the backtalk, vocals, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, and djembe. Amissville is a blend of intimate original songs and creative covers.

Many of you will remember Contagious Blues from last year. They were so great we asked them back. When it comes to Rockin' Blues, Contagious Blues Band is a "Different Breed.” "Award Winning" and "Internationally Known" are two ways to describe the Contagious Blues Band!

2007-2009 International Blues Challenge Semi-Finalists, 2008 Beale Street Blues Kings Winners, 2008 Charlotte Music Award Winners, 2008 Charlotte Blues Society's Blues Challenge Winners, just to name a few. Their debut CD "Ride" was nominated for the best "Self-Produced" CD at the 2008 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN. Needless to say you don’t want to miss this band.
