Mr. Thomas Andre Carlton, 53, of Shelby, departed this life on April 26, 2025, at Atrium Health, Kings Mountain, NC. He was born in Lenoir, NC, to the late Daniel Carlton and Vera Horton Carlton.

"Andre" was a graduate 1990 Shelby High graduate. After graduation, he enlisted in the US Navy serving for four years. After his service with the Navy, Andre reenlisted with the US Marines serving for six more years and was a veteran of the Persian Gulf War. With an outstanding work ethic, he was employed with Diamler Trucks for twenty-five years where he worked as a Quality Control Inspector.

Andre attended Family Worship Center. He was a very genuine man, always encouraging others with his upbeat personality. His love for family always showed throughout his life. He loved sports and was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Essie McSwain.

He leaves to cherish his memory to his wife, Joann Carlton; son, Kydan Thompson of Gastonia, NC; daughter, Kayla Carlton of Bessemer City, NC; stepchildren, Karmella Robertson of Gaffney, SC, and Raquel Byers of Kings Mountain, NC; brothers, Daryl Carlton of Shelby, NC, and Harold Carlton (Pam) of Monroe, NC; sister, Danielle Starnes (Rev. Byrant) of Shelby, NC; grandchildren, Ka'myah Smith and Karmyn Degree; special nephews, Da'Quan Starnes and Dorien Starnes; and a host of nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters in laws, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. at Family Worship Center, Kings Mountain, NC. Enloe Mortuary was in charge of the services.
