Thomas Curtis Mellon, 73, of Cherryville passed away on August 20, 2025 at Atrium Health - Cleveland in Shelby.

Thomas was born on April 9, 1952 in Cleveland County, NC to the late Ivey TC Millon and Emma Pauline Swink Millon. He was retired from Darby Water Production.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Larry Mellon and Harold Mellon and two sisters, Marie Johnson and Helen Burgess.

Thomas is survived by his wife of 41 years, Betty Carolyn Cook Mellon; two sons, Michael Mellon of Cleveland County and John Mellon of Lincoln County; daughter, Shirley Johnson of Cleveland County; stepdaughter, Angela Randall of Vale; brother, Ricky Mellon of Casar; sister, Carolyn McGinnis of Lincolnton; 8 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 5 step great-grandchildren.
