Thomas Mills Curry, Jr., 97, of Shelby, passed away Friday, March 14, 2025, at White Oak Manor Shelby. He was the son of the late Thomas Mills Curry, Sr. and Edith Mae Mills Curry.

He was a faithful member of Elizabeth Baptist Church for 75 years where he served as Chairman of the Deacon Board and enjoyed singing in the choir with his wife for over 40 years. Tom enjoyed growing vegetables in his garden and had a love for college basketball. He was a proud owner and operator of Times Printing Company of Shelby, NC for many years and a former member of the Shelby Optimist Club.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife of almost 72 years, Virginia Carpenter Curry; eight siblings, Paul Curry, Mazelle Dodson, Jack Curry, Lucille Sutherland, Josephine Blanton, James Curry, Barbara Biddix, and Betty Beam.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Thomas "Mills" Curry, III and wife Debi of Cherryville; one grandson, John Thomas Curry, and wife Robin of Hickory, and great-granddaughter, Addison Rose Curry.

A funeral service will be held at Elizabeth Baptist Church Thursday, March 20, 2025, at 2:00PM and the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place following the service in the Elizabeth Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Elizabeth Baptist Church.
