SHELBY - Cleveland County native Thomas "Tommy" Dean George, 62, passed away on Monday, August 26, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Proceeded in death by his father, Harold Dean George; stepfather, Alvin Glenn Wright; stepbrother, Gordan Glenn Wright; son-in-law, Ronnie Jason Smith; three nephews, John Turner, Clint Wright and Joshua Ferree.

Tommy leaves behind to cherish his memories his mother, Wilma "Mickey Wright; two daughters, Alisha Smith and Courtney George; six grandchildren, Kari, Makayla, Hannah, Lilly and AyDen Smith, Elijah Lee Woolard; three sisters, Debbie Turner (Benji), Kim Parker (Farrell) and Tammy Ferree (Duane); step-brother, Phil Wright (Tammy); four nephews, Ronnie, Travis, Dustin and Garrett; two nieces, Lindsay and Heather; long-time friend, Gary Smith.

For most of his life he worked in Construction as a Lead Cabinet Installer. Tommy enjoyed hunting, being outside, camping, grilling and football. Spending time with family and grandchildren was his favorite thing to do. He will truly be missed by all who love him.
