Timothy Durand "Tim" Kiser, 58 of Washburn Switch Road, Shelby, NC passed away on September 14, 2017 at Hospice Wendover following a brief illness.

Tim was a lifelong resident of Cleveland County where he was well-known in the community through his instrumental role in the family owned, Shelby Fish Camp.

Tim was an avid outdoors-man. He loved hunting, fishing, and working with his hands. He loved the beach and liked to go out deep sea fishing with his friends and family. He loved his children and cherished all six of his grandchildren.

He was a graduate of Shelby High School class of 1977, and attended Lees McRae College and Gardner Webb University. He was the maintenance director of Carillon Assisted Living in Shelby.

Tim is preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd Kiser and Blanche Glover Kiser.

He is survived by his three children; one son, Colby Kiser and wife Tonee of Hampton, VA, and two daughters Caroline Allen of Nashville, TN, and Cortlan Zaludek and husband Jake of Sunset Beach, NC; and six grandchildren; Brendan, Charlee, and Wyatt Kiser all of Hampton, VA, and Jax, Max, and Avery Zaludek all of Sunset Beach, NC; three brothers, Dean Kiser and wife Anita of Surfside Beach, SC, Steve Kiser of Garden City, SC and Scott Kiser and wife Tammy of Shelby, NC; several beloved nieces and nephews; and many lifelong friends whom he referred to as his "Band of Brothers".

Funeral Service will be held 3pm Sunday, September 17, 2017 at New Bethel Church of Shelby with Pastor Mark Patchett officiating . Burial will immediately follow the service at Sunset Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, September 16, 2017 from 5 pm until 7 pm at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory. At other times, the family will be gathering at 2307 Holly Lane, Shelby, NC 28150.
