Timothy Smith, 58, of 115 Yoda Drive Grover, NC went home to be with JESUS on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at Testa Family Hospice House in Kings Mountain NC. He was born on January 13, 1962 in Inwood, New York to the late Willie P. Smith and Maggie Leslie Smith.
Tim lived a faithful and loving life. He was a member of New Life Christian Church in Kings Mountain where he served as Chairman of the Trustee Board and President of the Program Committee.
"Timmy was a God-fearing man who loved his family, the outdoors and working. He worked at Burlan Manufacturing, INC. for a number of years. He was a 32ndDegree Mason and also was a member of the NAACP until his death.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his son, Tawarren Mitchell; great-grandparents, Jackey and Odessia Leslie and two brothers, Garry and Victor Smith.
Left to cherish fond memories are three children, Timothy Kirkland, Brandon Kirkland and Twanna Smith-Petty all of Grover, NC; his mother, Maggie Smith of Lawndale, NC; one sister, Suzanne Smith of Charlotte, NC; a sister in Christ, Vanessa Lee Stephens; 14 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; a special aunt and uncle, Christine and Thamon Howell of Shelby; a special reared daughter, Sharon Wilson of Shelby and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at 2:00 PM at New Life Christian Church in Kings Mountain. Burial will take place at Sunset Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM until 2:00 PM and additionally on Friday at S.T. Enloe Memorial Chapel until 8:00 PM. Condolences can be expressed online at www.enloemortuary.com.
