| Tiny Tot Olympics Held At Shelby City Park Gymnasium |

On Saturday, May 18, Shelby Gymnastics presented the 2013 Tiny Tot Olympics in the Shelby City Park Gymnasium. The program is for three and four year old pre-schoolers that are beginning gymnastics. These young gymnasts participated in events such as the balance beam, uneven bars, tumble-trak and an obstacle course. The program’s mission statement is: “Striving to nurture a positive self-image and love of physical activity through movement, exploration and fun.” At the conclusion of the program each student stepped up on a raised platform and was awarded a special Olympic medal. The tot were all smiles as they heard and saw the applause and cheers of their family and friends. The next Tiny Tot program will begin July 8th. Classes meet Tuesdays from 5:30 to 6:15 pm and Thursdays from 3:15 to 4:00 pm. The Shelby Gymnastics Director is Dorothy “Dot” Houlditch. She is assisted by Harley Austin and Lauren Surretsky.
